Bicycle for young boy with leukaemia

Swindon Lions were recently approached by a social worker for the charity CLIC Sargent which helps children with cancer. One of the children that she helps is a 7 year old boy from Swindon, currently in the second year of treatment for leukaemia, who had been recommended to take up cycling to help build up his strength following the effect of the disease and the treatment.

For a number of reasons his family was finding it difficult to purchase a suitable bicycle so could we help? We could indeed. Very soon a bicycle was purchased and, now that he has sufficiently recovered from a recent bout of treatment he has been using it with enthusiasm.

The club hopes that this plays a part in a successful treatment for the boy.
